Synopsis

In the light of continued data loss stories, Nigel will examine whether the problem is one of security culture. In so doing Nigel will discuss:

  • The cause(s) of the problem
  • The relationship between security and risk staff and other staff
  • The benefits and limitations of awareness campaigns
  • Bringing about behavioural change
  • Building in security, assurance and privacy

Nigel will also give a brief overview of the Cyber Security KTN and the security challenges it is curently addressing..

About the speaker

 

Since joining QinetiQ in 2004, Nigel Jones has led a team delivering a consultancy and research business in the domains of security, resilience and intelligence. He has a special interest in understanding and analysing risk environments, the use of intelligence systems to aid decision making and in the integration of human factors into security systems. Nigel's experience is derived from a military career in Information Operations and the design and delivery of education and training prior to joining QinetiQ.
