Course Overview
IT Service Management is of growing importance in the provision and support of IT services which deliver what the business needs in a reliable, cost effective and efficient manner.
There have recently been extensive developments in the various best practice guidelines, frameworks and standards involved in IT Service Management. Most delegates will have heard of ITIL, however this has recently been through a significant re-write along with substantial changes in the official qualification scheme.
The introduction of ISO/IEC 20000, the international standard for IT Service Management (previously BS 15000) has also changed for the better the way many organisations view the provision of IT services.
These three sessions will consider the current situation and discuss the rationale behind the changes before moving into presentations and comparisons of the key aspects of the various approaches and how they interface with other frameworks and standards.
The course will be presented by Ian Whyte, Principal Consultant of Bishops Beech Ltd. Ian has substantial practical experience in IT Service Management throughout the world as a consultant, auditor and lecturer at all levels helping organisations in many industry sectors to improve the way they operate and deliver their IT services. He is a member of several influential committees and an author, contributor and reviewer of related articles and publications.
